Should I be offended if a guy can't get it up? He said he had been drinking, but I'm taking his softness a little hard.

Even though this question has been answered a thousand times before, I will respond one last time since yours included a good pun. The truth is it can happen to the best of them and means absolutely nothing. Alcohol sometimes has a way of making it very difficult for a man to get his love gun working, sometimes it can't shoot and other times he can't even get it out of the holster.

I would only be concerned if there is no hint of alcohol in his system. In that case, this points to something else, also probably harmless. If the problem continues, seek sex therapy or Viagra.

There are tons of harmless reasons that can cause "an equipment malfunction". My hubby has diabetes which can cause issues like this. So I thank God EVERYDAY for those little blue pills...and I mean EVERYDAY!

What I have also found is when I treat it as "no big deal", then the added pressure he puts on himself for failing to perform goes away, he becomes more relaxed and things get even better. And for those really difficult days, we start digging in the toy box and find other ways to play. Sometimes it forces us to be more creative and discover ways we would have never known had this issue not presented itself. What I'm saying is...sometimes it's not a curse.

If you're really into this guy and he's into you (at least as much as he possibly can be), then show some compassion. I'm pretty sure his desires are in the right place which should speak volumes.

Any number of medications can do this. I used to take meds for depression and anxiety, and I've experienced both being unable to climax, and being unable to stay hard as side effects. Way to prevent anxiety, doc! Of course, this stopped being an issue once i became single and stopped having sex altogether.
Stress is another big one, he might have a ton going on at work or something he's not letting out. Communication should be the big key here; with some open channels you should be able to work around a situation that's no doubt frustrating for you both.
