Yes, absolutely. You're far too old. Ancient, even. I bet it was cool to see the wheel invented. Did they let you ride it?
Do this. Get yourself about 47 cats, close up your blinds, put on your housecoat and start living the life of a hermit/spinster/crazy cat lady. Because, as we all know, life ends at 40. Oh, and don't forget to sew up your vag, too, while you're at it. You won't be needing it.
Please.
Don't take this the wrong way -- not trying to be cruel -- but your question is ludicrous. No one is too old to get married. No one. Even my mean, crotchety old grandfather remarried after my grandmother died, and he was in his 80s. (The best part? He married his dead wife's sister. Ewww, right? Hey, it's Georgia. Even better, he wanted us to call his new wife "grandma," but she'd always been Aunt Thelma to us. My other grandfather, wit that he was, suggested we call her "Aunt Grandma.")
Newsflash: 40 isn't old. And far too young to give up on love. People over 40 get married every day -- by the thousands. So have a shower, pluck your chin hairs, put on some lipstick and get back in the game, grandma.
HA HA HA! Oh my! Ready to throw in the towel at 40? That's a long, lonely road ahead of you if you're giving up at that age. You're never too old for love. If it's what you want, go for it. Great answer, Cary.
Even I didn't give up until I was 42.
What about 42? How about a never married 42?
Cary, if you weren't married ... I'd be all over you.
Heart,
Very Nearly Grandma
Ditto! And, I am 40, so I guess that makes me a Grandma.
Hey, DA -- back off the internet love guru. I've already got dibs on Cary if he becomes available... lol
I thought the question read should I get married after I have had a few forties.
There's an ad for "Plenty of Singles Over 40" MatureSinglesOnly.com on the sidebar. Coincidence?
Oh my gravy, 40 is when I started having kids!
But, were you married, yet?
;-)
Great answer! "Aunt Grandma?" is supreme. You can't make that shit up!
And yeah, I plan to be fabulous forever; age is just a digit.
How about closer to 50 geeze 40 giving up at 40 that is insane.
I think I love you for saying that 40 isn't old.
(especially since I turned 40 this year.....)
And I agree, it is definitely not too old to get married! Congratulations anonymous-question-asker!
I know I've pretty much given up, and I'm nowhere near 40! All guys seem to only want teenagers.
....I think I love you, wise-ass. Your sense of humour is so fun.
I have to say that for the past few of hours i have been hooked by the impressive posts on this blog. Keep up the wonderful work.
