Sure, why not? Though this largely depends on your lifestyle. I'm completely against having a tiny dog around. I have lots of things all over the place in my home. I'll end up stepping on Fefe and next thing you know PETA is at my home calling me a dog killer.
That's not a good look.
But for many people, having the trendy tiny dogs as pets works. You can take the dog with you everywhere you want to go and its a living accessory which I assume makes it...better? I don't know.
Little dogs are cute though. And who doesn't love cute things?
Little dogs are really all about lifestyle. People get standard sized dogs because they're apart of the household and the kids can hug the dog and wrestle with Fido and he won't die. Little dogs are not for people who live in places where things get broken frequently. So in that regard, its just all about your life and what you want the dog for. Do you want the companion or the companion plus the accessory.
PJ is right. Although for the life of me, I can't understand why the hell anyone would want a little dog in their purse.
Anyone living in an apartment knows that most landlords don't like their tenants to have big dogs, but some are okay with dogs about the size of cats. Finally, it's worth considering if you have the time for a dog. Dogs need time and attention, not unlike kids.
