Actually, I would say don't date people who are chronically unemployed, or always losing their jobs. We're still in the tail end of the great recession and there are some very hard-working people that just can't catch a break. I was out of work for a year and a half but spent hours each day sending resumes and making contacts. Right now most aren't lazy, they're just caught in the huge mess of our economy.

I agree w what you said. I am a white woman dating a black man who has a job I was unemployed I'm now doing a little work at my apartment complex and next week I will start babysitting. This country needs to quit sterotyping each other.

I know hella black dudes that get involved with non-black females simply because they do accept more. They black males in these relationships have told me so. Of course it depends on the male and female in every situation and all sistuations are not the same. But some black males do, because they know they can cheat, get money from, etc. I use the term male, because MEN never feel confortable living off of a female, regardless of race. Btw, I also black males that stay with black females because they take care of them too.
I've seen the behavior in my own daughter, but her boyfriend and she are both white. They have a dysfunctional relationship based on a series of factors. My daughter is a recovered meth addict, (sober 7 years) but her deserve level/self worth is still low. She works and goes to school, and is a mom of a three year old. She has been in a stormy relationship for 8 years with a guy that grew up modeling his father's bad example of no job, drug use/dealer, fist-fighting, and verbal and physical abuse handed down from father to son. He can't seem to keep a job and my daughter keeps supporting him and they are stuck in poverty. It breaks my heart that she stays with this anchor around her neck. Her boyfriend has brothers and male cousins who are all the same: unemployed white guys living off their girlfriends. I guess these type of guys gravitate and find women who will put up with this shit.

While I'm not a big believer in single income households, for a variety of reasons, I will say that if a couple has kids, and it's a mutually agreed upon situation that both are comfortable with, a spouse staying at home is not a bad thing at all. My problem is that in a lot of those situations, somebody is being forced into it.

Ok ethnicity has nothing to do this. I mean history has said that girls went for guys for money and status and very few accounts of true love. First thing discussed in arranged marriages is the dowry. That was the most insensitive question I have ever stumbled upon.
Where I come from, there are many black men who have jobs, but many who do not. Joblessness is not a mindset, but a circumstance. Many black (white, brown, yellow and red) men (and women)- those who have jobs and those who do not- are looking for an easy way out, and will lay up on anyone who will allow them to do so. Truthfully speaking, many women, and especially white women in my area (particularly those who appear to have low self esteem), tend to allow black men to lay up on them. So, call it racist, ignorant, or whatever you want, but where I come from, this does seem to be the case.
