Yep. And are not ashamed of it, either.

Yes but at-least not in public, it is supposed to be totally private.(I MEAN TOTALLY)
Know what you mean. That was how I was raised too.
It is rubbish. There is no more shame in crying as there is in laughing. So no need to hide it.
Bull to the not in public comment.
My dad cries more in movies than I do, and I'm a teenage girl.
Another instance of your KEY sensitivity Mystery Man, Props to you mate and MORE. How does one encourage one's loved guyfriends to open up and CRY?thx
Well, it is difficult. A lot of guys are really not that confident of their masculinity - we get the same media influences gals do, and it is just as messed up.
The self confident ones know it is fine to cry. The rest, well, they feel like they are letting the ideal down.
Dumb, yes.
Human, totally.
How do we women help? @mysteryman
You know, I really don't know the answer to this.
The only one thing I have observed is "Never mention him crying." Emotions are pretty scary sh*t for most guys, to be felt and suffered, but never discussed. I can get away with telling a guy it is OK to cry, being a guy myself. You, probably not, unless he really, really trusts you.
That is so damned stupid it is totally ridiculous, but it is just how it is.
