I think most single guys view every woman as someone they could potentially date and/or sleep with. From the new temp in his office, to the coffee barista who puts an extra shot of caramel in his iced macchiato, no one is automatically ruled out.
Just because you're friends with a guy and spend most of your time together playing video games and downing beers, that doesn't necessarily mean romance won't blossom. If romantic comedies have taught me anything, it's that friends often fall in love. (Also that, if you need a green card, the easiest thing to do is bribe your assistant into marrying you. See, at first Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds hated each other, but then they fell in love. Totally didn't see that one coming.)
But do guys ever get turned off by a girl who likes video games and beer? Only the ones who are boring and hate fun. Chances are, one of the guys you hang out with is secretly longing to find someone who he can fire up the Super Smash Bros. with on a lazy Friday night. If you're worried about a potential relationship entering the "friend zone," turn up the flirtation. (You'd be surprised what a turn-on video game trash-talking can be.) If he isn't taking the bait, or if being in a large group of friends is hindering your potential love connection, propose the idea of hanging out one-on-one. (If he's not getting the idea by this point, he might want to get his head examined.)
When you do hang out alone, you'll know pretty quickly if he's interested in being more than friends. The point is, don't go changing who you are for some preconceived notion of what guys want. Everyone wants someone they can have fun with; no one is looking for someone who doesn't share any of their interests. Sure, some guys like a "girly girl," but plenty are looking for someone who can be "one of the guys." (And by "one of the guys," I mean someone who is good at both video games and sex.)

as a girl who enjoys staying in on a saturday night, (i could do
without the video games, but would keep a beer or two) it's nice to see
that guys like a girl who feels the same. thanks!
Here's what i think: doing things and hanging with the guys= totally cool. BUUUTT a girl who dresses like a man and doesnt take care of herself and lacks femininity can be easily sent to the friend zone.... or the lesbian zone.... SO, the question isnt really do "guys like girls who can drink beer and play video games?" thats a yes. But, the anwer to "do guys like man-gina's???""-- only as friends!
I'd say be yourself.. men love girls that are just as comfortable chilling at home or going out. I'd say also make sure you are keeping yourself up in the looks department, just because you are at home doesn't mean you can't look cute, have your hair done and a cute outfit. Remind him that you still are a hot girl !
