From one geek to another- I just got accepted into an amazing, out-of-state college. Problem is, I really love my bf of 1.5 yrs. and I'm afraid to leave him behind. What do I do?

Go to college. No question whatsoever. Do not turn down an amazing, life-changing experience for a relationship. It is much easier these days to make a long-distance relationship work. (Consult my previous answer on the subject.) You've got Skype, IM, email, etc. to keep the fires burning. You must do what is important for your future.

If you stay, and miss out on this amazing opportunity, you will regret it and gradually become resentful of your boyfriend. Plus, you're both young-- now is not the time to change your life plan for a relationship. He must know how important going to an amazing college is to you. Doesn't he want you to enrich yourself and prepare for your future? And he can visit you: it gives him a reason to get out of his hometown and see the world. And who knows, maybe he'll end up liking the area and apply to the same school, or one nearby.

Do not give up going to this awesome college if it's what you want. Actually, let me talk to your boyfriend for a second. Bring him over to the computer. I'll wait.

Is he here? Okay...What's up, Bro-seph? How about that game last night? I know, right??? Anyway, your girlfriend should really go away to that awesome college. I know, I know, but don't worry. She loves you. She told me, and I'm a total stranger on the Internet. You guys will be fine. Many, many people of all ages do the long-distance relationship thing and make it work. Do what is best for her. You won't be left behind. Now go buy her some flowers, just because. You can thank me later.
