Well what you do is ask your homegirls to introduce you to guys that they know. Of course, the likelihood of this happening is probably slim unless they are dating somebody already as no woman is going to pass on a guy that she thinks is great to another chick. But here's the problem, at some point, you're going to exhaust your friends' friends and you're going to have to go other routes to meet guys.
And sister girl, we've all been hurt. That's not a good reason to not be willing to meet men at bars or at the beach, or in a chair, or in underwear. Any man can hurt you no matter how you met. You might meet at a Great Guys Anonymous Rally where every guy is a known saint and you could end up hurt.
Really, online dating is a great way to weed out people based on your own wants and desires. I do think you need to realize and accept that there is no perfect way to meet a guy. And be open to meeting guys all over the place. Don't decide you can't trust a guy because you meet him at a bar. Don't trust him if you meet him at a bar and he has a wedding ring on and a woman sitting next to him that just went to the bathroom.
