No reply in almost 10 days? Yeah, that's fishy. I'd be hesitant to make that trip. Even if he calls tonight or tomorrow, he sucks at communication, and that doesn't bode well for your future together.
I assume you're going there to spend time with this guy, no? I mean, you can get a taxi from the airport, but if the purpose of the trip is to see this knucklehead and he can't even meet you as promised, there's no point in going.

He would have to be dead in a ditch for me to forgive him for lot answering my calls before I'm supposed to fly to visit him. That is the only valid excuse, in my book. Even then.... ;)
Seriously, don't go.
Definitely a red flag that he hasn't replied to your messages. Perhaps he has a legitimate reason why he hasn't contacted you, but it would have to be a darn good one to be valid. I'd hold off on making the trip unless you hear from him, and he can explain himself to your satisfaction.
Is this someone you have met before? If this is a first time meeting it sounds to me to be a scam. You will fly into meet him, he won't be at the airport to pick you up, then what? You stand their and wait? I wouldn't.
I hope you canceled this trip. Even if on some long shot that doesn't exist he didn't receive your messages, in 10 days he doesn't contact you? Granted, I don't know how much you normally speak, but I get the impression it's fairly often and until now he was good about returning messages. So in 10 (at the time you posted this) no phone call, voicemail, text, IM, email - or one of the other 7 million ways to contact someone now and you don't hear from him? Something fishy is going on and you aren't his main priority, find someone who will make you their main priority, time to write this guy off and move on.
Everyone is quite concerned with the O/P cancelling her trip...I feel the opposite.
If the intent of this trip was not necessarily to see this guy I think she should make the trip. Have fun, forget about him! He's an asshole for going MIA, and having an awesome trip would be the best way to make up for it.
