The mind wanders, especially when relaxed. Slips of the tongue are accidents that can happen to anyone in any situation. I wouldn't say it's a problem unless it's a habit. If the person you're with repeatedly checks out and mentions the names of other people who are not you, then I think having hurt feelings is somewhat justified.
But it doesn't sound like you and this dude have a relationship. You met him, and twelve hours later, you hooked up. Am I getting that right? In which case, it's even more understandable that he'd mumble another person's name -- he just learned yours. He was apologetic, though. So accept that apology. I'm pretty sure that if you hook up again, that he won't make this same mistake. He's probably embarrassed, and will be extra focused while you are going down on him.
I'm pretty sure the person meant that they were together that day for 12 hrs....
Really, the guy in this situation is the only one that's going to know if it's a problem or not. I've been in his situation before. The guy I was spending time with wasn't getting anything done for me. As soon as he finally did something right, I moaned out his brother's name and everything came to a screeching hault. He actually said, "It's okay," and thought we were gonna keep going. "Uh, no. It's not." I realized in that moment that I had feelings for his brother, who happened to be my best friend at the time.

We HAVE been together once before this. I live 80 miles away so we just "spend the weekend together" when I see him. The first time, no, he didn't reference anyone else. This time, it was late, though I'd been there all day, he was drunk and we were, well, having fun. I thought I was DA BEST at this skill, as he had mentioned more than a few times, but I guess Susan's not too bad either.
I'll give him a pass this time, (not sure when our next hang out is) but was wondering if bringing it up to him (now a week after the fact) is a good idea or not?

Hey John..thanks for answering...to clarify, we live 85 miles from each other so when I see him, I stay for the weekend. We had been together for a weekend previous to this about a month ago, and he was very attentive, and didn't bring anyone else verbally (or otherwise) into the mix.
This time, we had been together for the entire day, then were a bit tipsy, and horny. I assume his mind wanders, as does mine, but he didn't say MY name...although he praised me about a gizillion times for my, er, unbelievable skills (we're not talking about typing), so I would think that his attention would be duly focused on the "expert"...
I JUST WAS WONDERING IF I SHOULD BRING THIS UP TO HIM, AS IT'S ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THE EPISODE, OR IF I SHOULD JUST LET IT GO. NOT SURE I'D GET AN HONEST ANSWER, OR WHAT ANSWER I'D BE LOOKING FOR ANYWAY.

i think if you were going to address that issue-you should of done it right when it happened. bringing it up now will only make him more uncomfortable. he probably has just gotten over the embarrassment and you bringing it up will probably make him WANT to be with SUSAN so he doesnt have to answer any q's or worry about anymore awkward moments. for all you know-susan could be his favorite porn star to watch and ur so good it made him think of her. the point is-you were the one there with him so thats all that matters.
