I don't wish that sort of damage to him or any bus, but I do agree with you that he is what's known as -- awful. I too find his vibe and general demeanor to be caustic and self-important. I find his comedy to be akin to nearly all blockbuster movies or Top 40 music: 98% utter nonsense, derivative- and missing that 'human vulnerability' that makes art, art.
Is he 100% unfunny every time his cocky hand grabs a mic? No, but there are one thousand comics sleeping on their friends' floor at this moment who are funnier and more creative. Think of him as the opposite of a comedian's comedian. He's probably only second to King of Joke-Stealers, Carlos Mencia, in being hated.
So how did he get famous? Well, hard work and being at right place at the right time. He, like Mussolini and Carrot Top before him, amassed a following. And, when I get angry at him or the musical genius Pitbull or cinematic masterpiece Zookeeper, I always find myself even angrier at the masses. The masses that vote in human-vomit to run our government, or buy tickets to hear Dane Cook fart jokes, while fist pumping the newest Pitbull en route to Zookeeper II.
The best way to hate Dane Cook is to ignore him and share quality art. Take your bus and spread the word.
I highly recommended the Dane Cook episode of Marc Maron's WTF podcast. A great insight into a crazy person.
