Oh, there is no need to guess this one. Women like surprises. Non threatening ones at least.
After all, which do you prefer? A present, nicely wrapped up in pretty paper, that you have to carefully open to find out what is inside, or just being handed the same thing openly? No paper to unwrap, no box to open. It is just there, sitting on your palm. Dullsville, right?
Women also tend to have more curiosity than an entire barrel of cats. They enjoy talking about and digging into peoples backgrounds, motivations and desires. Mysterious guys are well practised at fending off or deflecting that type of digging, keeping them endlessly interesting as a source of frustrated curiosity.
With a mysterious guy, you are never quite sure what will happen next, what he knows and what he can do. Until a need for him to show it suddenly arises. He will reveal some layer of competence you never knew existed, then, frustratingly, never mention it again.
