I think the best way would be to say "we have no future unless you move back." Yeah, I think that does it. Succint and to the point.
I'm assuming that you've been having some issues with your relationship because of the distance and are ready to end it but you want to give him a chance or something. So speak up. Or better yet, why don't you move? If the distance is a problem for you, then shouldn't you be the one to fix the problem?
#justsayin
By the way, I HATE when people use Twitter-talk in regular AIM or chat or blog posts. This seems very simple to me. You have a mouth use it. If I were more perceptive, which I'm not, I'd assume that you're trying to find a way out of your relationship, but what do I know. If you really wanted to be there, I feel like you'd try to make it work a little better - unless of course you live in LA and he lives in Shanghai. Or Siberia. Or heaven forbid, Cleveland.
What with social networking and video conferencing, I think you could find a way to spend as much time "together" without being around eachother 24/7 as possible. And then when you do get the chance for some reach-out loving, then you'd be happy as a pig in slop. But I think you're already done.
So just tell him and when he says he can't make that happen overnight, you say, well, "then I think we should just be friends."
The end.
