Obvious Signs
You're staving off hunger fits by snacking on your own shoes laces.
Your bed is in fact your couch and is in fact not yours?
Your rent is fairly reasonable and hasn't been paid in 18 months. The collection calls have stopped coming because your phone hasn't been active in months and Ketchup has been applied to many, many types of food over the last half year.
You either get to take the bus or have lunch; but never on the same day.
Less Obvious Signs
You are constantly trying to figure out where all your money goes and have a savings account with a big fat zero in it.
Your checks bounce 25% of the time.
You ask for and/or borrow money from your parents on the regular.
You never pay them back.
Even Less Obvious Signs
You often have to back out of socials events because the finances associated with it (group dinners, car rentals, air travel, birthday gifts, appropriate clothing) will throw you in a money hole for a few weeks.
Your partner pays for everything and looks at you like "Oh, sweetie, come on now," when you ceremoniously pull out your wallet as if to split a bill.
Your salary has remained the same or even gone down while nothing else in your life - cost-wise - has gone decreased. Making $35K was ok when your monthly rent was $800, but now you make $32,500, your rent is $975 and you're splitting car insurance with your new man.
You feel like you're living, but not really living. In other words, you're getting by but not afforded the life you wish to have. Like most of us - that's the case. These times are as hard as we the people have seen in many decades. Hopefully, your inability to live the life you wish is closer to not getting the Uggs you want this year and not a matter of you stealing and eating these same Uggs for basic survival.
Thank You 1%!
IS not enough? OR will not be enough?
The lists of signs above are pretty darn accurate.
If you are asking if it will be enough, try writing out a budget.
