Girls giving out roses, whether it be on The Bachelor or at the beginning of a basic movie date, is fantastic. Men are much like other humans. We like receiving gifts and tokens of affection. The flower says: I dig you. And I want you to know that.
I imagine you are asking this question because our society seems to perpetuate the notion that men are in charge of flowering and de-flowering females - roses in particular. As if botanists and Hallmark employees around the world would go into violent seizures and die if too many women started purchasing The Rose.
Bullsh*t. A rose is a rose is a rose.
You and your man should have the confidence to give and receive this plant equally. It is not a declaration of gender assignments. It's a declaration of your affection. You are not a "butch" for offering them to him. He is no pansy for accepting them.
So break from social and literary convention and offer your dude the love-shrub. It's rooted in equality and smells so friggin' nice.
A guy gave me a rose on our first date. He called me to make sure I got home that night safely too. Sweet, huh? Right! The next day he called to tell me he wasn’t over his ex & was still thinking about her. (Guys use that one way too much!) WHY give me the friggin rose?
Men. Grrrrr...
i always thought giving a dude a rose was a little too mushy and that the guy wouldn't feel very manly either, so I bought my man duct tape roses. He digged 'em. He still has them. and we r gettin married in 38 days! :O)
I've given a few exes roses. They loved them!!
I have to say that for the past couple of hours i have been hooked by the amazing posts on this site. Keep up the great work.
