You know, I can't tell you how many women I know who have told me that the man they were dating just, smelled. I find this odd since I do not enjoy being around smelly things or people so how does one end up actually dating a person who reeks? I'm truly dumbfounded by this.
As far as how you tell him? You just do. You say blatantly, "you smell. Fix it." Of course why he smells is almost as big an issue as the fact that he smells. I'm going to need you sniff out exactly why it is he smells so that you can tell him what to do about it. Oh, and slap his mother. This is similar to a school system failing a student by just passing him through until he graduates but cannot read. You just don't start smelling on a random Tuesday. That is an affliction. An affliction of ill repute.
So once again, you'd be best served by perhaps sitting him down and telling him how his odor affects you and that you want to love him but that using plug-ins and clothespins doesn't work like on television or the movies and if he's going to continue to smell bad you're going to find you a good smelling man.

I love it! I haven't dated anyone that smelled bad all out, but did date a guy a very long time ago that had an... odd smell to his nether regions... it was not bad like B.O but... different and it made me gag... needless to say that was a short lived relationship because I didn't have the heart to tell him he had an unusual sweet/sour smell lol I was young, these days I think I could manage that.
Well, 8yrs ago I was dating even engaged to a guy who for some reason forgot what good hygiene was!! He wasnt always like that but after about our 3rd year together is when this happened! I would ask him when the last time he took a shower and he just looked at me doumbfoundly like what's this shower thing you are implying?! I would literally have to tell him to get his @$$ in the bathroom and take a shower, cuz if he couldn't tell me the day in that week I asked him when he showered!!! So in he would go and shower! Ugh there was a point where I realized I am not his fiancée but his replacement mother!! I even told him how would you like it if I didn't shower and smelled! Would you want to have sex with me?! Course he said no, but after that I still had to tell him to wash himself!
So if he doesn't keep up on the hygiene even after you have brought it to his attention leave him! It's not worth being with someone that doesn't smell like soap!!

I've been living with this man for 5years now, over the last couple of years I noticed that he wasn't showering daily.
