Despite what most people think, it is harder to find just a f*buddy, for women specifically. The guys you'd think would be interested in a free lunch would SEEM on board but end up flaking out in the end for some reason or another.

The guys you DON'T want to in that capacity are the very ones who will respond to craigslist ads and call the people whose names are in bathroom stalls. So this is a good question.

My guess is that you'd do best to start with friends. That might be surprising but you never know if any of your male friends (who aren't married, being in the 40-year-old range probably makes that more difficult...or easier. Everybody divorced by then?) would be on board. You already know them and they might be able to separate sex from you as a person and not judge you in the process.

So then the question becomes how to broach the topic. I'm guessing that there is no surefire way to do it where you'd be comfortable. You might just have to go for it one day in the middle of a convo. Kind of bring it up jokingly (to spare your own feelings and give you an "out" if the convo goes badly) and see where he takes it.

And if that doesn't work, just start going out and see who you meet. The younger the guy, the more likely he'll be up for an experience like no strings attached coitus.
