On the contrary it's awesome! I find it surprising that the guys you are telling this to are freaked out. Perhaps you are mis-reading the look on their faces. Maybe you are mistaking the look that says "Effing awesome!" for "This chick is freaking me out."

I'm a female with a blackbelt in karate and practice numerous martial art forms. I've found that when I tell a guy about my training, he'll usually react with some variation on: "Awesome! Can you teach/show me some moves?" If a guy acts intimidated or try to put you down for 'emasculating' him, he isn't worth your time.
Plus, showing a guy some moves is a great way to get physically comfortable without completly committing yourself to anything :D
Why can't you just wait and tell the guy later when you know each other a little better? Like in bed after great sex. I mean great that you have a blackbelt,( I box). But it may sound intense if thats one of the first few things a guy knows about you.

This isn't advice on the question, more of martial arts advice, haha, but look around and see if you have anywere that has Hapkido. It is by far the most well rounded art that I have ever studied and I've been all over the whole country.
