Well I think all you can do is keep apologizing and hope that perhaps he'll decide to give you another chance. I mean you dipped out for a month. Not like two days. You basically ditched him - or at least that's how it looked to him.
Hell, it looks that way to me too. So yes, his feelings are hurt. Of course your response all depends on how much you really want to keep in touch with him. If it's not that big a deal then perhaps you should just let it ride.
By the way, emailing him as opposed to calling him as your first response back? Wow, total wacksauce. It's a cop out move. You should have called him. That would let him know you were serious. An email is so impersonal. You send emails to your boss to say you're going to be out sick. Or to your realtor. You call people you care about. And he probably knows that. Like say somebody sends you an pissed off email about you. If you really want to clear the air, you call them back to fix it. You don't email them.
So pick up the phone and give it a few chances to connect. Leave him a message. If he doesn't call back, call him one more time. After that he's just being sensitive and you don't want that in your life.

I am the girl who asked the question and I adore you for telling me how it is...I didn't call him b/c I was afraid to and yes that is completely a copout move, I emailed him twice and he responded to the second one but it was super polite and he didn't respond to my email request to have drinks. After your comment, I think I may call him next week and ask him out...I really am into him, but I had serious stuff come up like with my mom and work so...
