Nope, not a bit. The wonder of texting is that it lets you pick up a conversation at your pace. Just open it with an apology for not getting back to him earlier, and take it from there.

I gave a guy my #, and he texted me a few hours later and then texted me again the next day to see how I was. That was two days ago. Would it be weird for me to text him to say hey/keep the conversation going?

No, dont text him.
If he was the last person to text, go ahead and text him. But... what if she texted him and he hasn't responded yet? That's how I interpreted the question, although it might be because I am flabberghasted by this kind of behaviour. Men seem to always do this: start texting, then after a couple of texts just stop out of the blue, seemingly for no reason.
Sensible men know when to call it quits. If the woman shows no signs of interest after 2 text messages (and waiting a couple of days) it`s time to move on.
P.S. i assumed she didn`t text the guy.
I had texted him and he didn't text back. And I did text him again, and we texted for a little and talked about potentially hanging out this weekend, but no plans are official yet so I'm not getting my hopes up (I feel like if he did want to hang out he would have made plans then and there). I did my best to show I was interested though, so maybe he's not as into me as I thought. Oh well, nbd.
