Fashion magazines try to sell a specific image - tall, thin and blonde - as the ideal of what beauty is. They chose that particular type and then sell advertising space to companies that make things that make you look like that type. It's disgusting and it in no way reflects what men find attractive.
Be proud of who you are and what you look like. Do things you love, wear what you want, and don't fear looking different than the yellow-haired stick figures on the magazines in the supermarket checkout line. You're fantastic precisely as you are.

Definitely not all guys. I don't. But then, I did grow up in a repressive country with tightly controlled media, so I wasn't brainwashed into worshipping the Barbie model as the only ideal of beauty. It was also an Arab country, therefore I was surrounded by all types of women and without the mass media there to tell me differently, I learned to see all different types of women as beautiful. I happen to know I'm not the only guy who feels this way either. Granted, most young men are totally influenced by the media telling them what women they must find attractive, there are still many who have shaken off the influence. Don't change yourself, you are good as you are now, and you'll find men who will love your looks as they are.
Many men consider Beyonce the sexiest woman on earth (and they may be right) and she's not naturally blond and blue eyed. For every man who likes a blue eyed blond there's another who finds that look boring.
I will say though, men who only find a certain colouring attractive are pretty often the most boring of the bunch. Also possibly Nazis.
That a woman like Beyonce needs to be single out shows the extent of the Barbie worship, which has been going on since at least the 50s with Marilyn Monroe. Here in the US, at your typical magazine stands, white blonde models adorn most (not all!) fashion and womens mags. Even now, companies like Victoria Secret has only hired a few black models, only Latinas who have light complexion, and will not hire any Asian models. If your daughter goes missing, and she ain't white, preferably blonde but white is good enough, and pretty, forget about mass media helping you, you're on your own and lotsa luck. Pretty White Girl syndrome.
There's definite progress since the 1970s, but the blonde blue-eyed beach barbie is still the predominant type pimped by mass media.
Nah I just thought of the prettiest celebrity I've heard of and guess what? They're not blond and blue eyed. I'm not saying the media doesn't have a boring lack of variety in who's presented as beautiful, I'm saying not many people would deny that someone like Beyonce is pretty, and she doesn't fit this one particular look.
...stop worrying about what guys think. MEN will notice the confidence in your style over the the color of your eyes & skin tone.

I dont get the white girl blonde hair, blue eyes ordeal. It is due to the advertisement world, where it mostly controlled by white america and europe. Im an Asian girl and I have the typical black hair, brown eyes look and I get hit on all the time. I dont ever compare myself to a white girl, because beauty comes in all forms and colors. The most gorgeous girls to me are often the exotic looking women, specifically ones with caramel color skin, hazel eyes, black hair. But looks only get you so far. Personality makes up about 70% of our attraction to another person. I will pass up an arrogant hottie for a sweet average guy who knows how to treat me well, ANY day.
Also, blonde guys hit on me all the time. Its kind of stupid to say they go for that type of girl too. Stop looking at who isnt into you, and look at WHO IS. Thats it. Good luck.
If a guy is going to choose someone over you because of the color on her Clairol box, let him go. Somewhere out there is your Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Robert Pattinson, Justin Bieber, Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum, Kanye West, David Beckham, Ashton Kutcher, or Don Draper (guys who like a brunette). And I'm not sure where men got the idea that the fashion world is to blame for the Barbie ideal. Holly Madison is selling zero Balmain jackets. She isn't edgy enough. The blonde bombshell is used by Hollywood to sell movies with lots of explosions and bouncing boobs. Actually, they used Megan Fox for that once, but that was the exception.
Most guys find me attractive but that's all. I know they only want me for a show. trust me most so call attractive chicks are searching for the guy who love them for their entire being and not for their looks. At the end of the day it's not so much about your looks but your character , attitude and confidence. Have you ever wonder why some not so attractive chicks have guys who adore them for life? It's their confidence that speaks out. They will never let any man treat them badly. They believe in themselves. Girl believe in yourself. Lift up your self esteem, dress fabulous and learn to have men adore you. You are created in the most beautiful image of God. Love and care yourself and dance.
