I know you'll tell the truth and yell at me if you think I should stop, but what do you think of a girl who casually dates guys knowing that she likes someone else? I need a way to get over him...

Ain't gonna yell unless you are being dishonest with the guys and leading them on hopelessly. You doing that, you get me p*ssed, got it?

Getting someone out of your head is the hardest thing to do. A little bit of casual fun helps, yes, but it isn't the be all and end all way of dealing with it, it just masks the hurt for a time and lets you heal a bit.
Now stop feeling guilty. Guys do it too, and there is no harm in it. No harm, that is, as long as you BOTH know and accept that is what you are doing.

Now as to the feeling of sadness - it goes. Stick this on replay and call me in the morning.

You have to be up front & honest with the guys you are casually dating. A guy would much rather hear, “I’m not looking for anything serious” right away…, over him putting his heart on the line & hearing it later. That would be pretty crappy.

Yeah, I can attest to that. Happened to me more than once, and it's not a fun situation to find yourself in. Honestly is the best policy. At least give the person a chance to decide if they want to be a part of it or not.

From previous experience, you are never gonna fill the void. I tried it once. Didn't work. I got into a rebound relationship when I really did think I was ready to and even though I was upfront about the casual nature of it, I still felt horrible when a few months down the line I was telling him I couldn't keep it going. Another very good friend of mine does the whole casually dating around/hooking up thing trying to fill the void and I end up doing a lot of consoling him at bars about the "meaningless" relationships when he has had one too many beers. Not to say it could never work... I suppose in some crazy capacity it could depending upon the person, but I agree with one of the above posters. If you do *be as mind blowingly clear as possible*. They probably won't be happy and I'm sure some guys won't want any part in it, but its better than leading someone on.
