I love Mad Men and as a girl who has always been unusually curvy, I love Joan and her style. Recently I've been Joan-ifying my wardrobe. But just out of interest, are only women loving the early 60's look on women, or do men like it too? (Also, do you only like it FOR women, or are you all dying to sport fedoras?)

Men definitely like the retro '60s Mad Men look. It's a welcome return to the time before Spanx and emaciated hipster American Apparel models when womanly curves were a thing to be  celebrated and not feared. Seeing as how all of us GuySpeak-ers (and pretty much every guy I know) are borderline obsessed with Christina Hendricks and the whole retro '60s sex appeal of the show, I would definitely encourage you to channel your inner Joan. Anything that shows off your curves with style is a good thing. Plus, designers back then knew how to create sexy clothes for women without just putting the word "juicy" on a pair of booty shorts.

As for the Mad "men" style, it's great to see a return to well-tailored suits and guys actually caring about the way they dress in public. (Perhaps this will signal the end of baggy pants? A man can dream...) While I kind of hate wearing suits outside of a wedding, I could definitely get into dressing up like Don Draper or Roger Sterling for a Mad Men-themed party or a wild, drunken night out at a fancy cocktail lounge. (The current trend in well made, old-fashioned drinks is also welcome.) I would probably pass on the fedora, however, unless it was Halloween. (That's more of a Mystery Man thing.)

Part of the appeal of the Mad Men aesthetic is how it reminds us of the days when clothing, cars, drinks, etc. were made with style and care. (The show has certainly brought back mystery and sex appeal to business attire.) Even though he's turning into a bit of a cad, most men would love to have even an iota of Don Draper's charm, style, and confidence. He's like James Bond, only with way more skeletons in his closet.

What do you guys think? Do you like the retro '60s Mad Men style? Are you excited for the new season?

This makes me amazingly happy. I've never followed Mad Men with any particular zest, but I adore the vintage styles that are now becoming more socially acceptable and appreciated. Women's fashion has been so defeminized and adrogynized over the years - not that I'm knocking t-shirts, I sleep in one and love it - but tights and skirts make me feel very feminine and attractive without being inappropriate, something I of the bustier breed have struggled with myself. I felt so uncomfortable in cheek-riding jeans and necklines that should be labeled boob lines - More power to Mad Men if it's humanizing this lovely, girly style of fashion that's brought me so much happiness! Plaid is rad!

Oh, and a tip for the guys: Honestly, I've never thought anything is seixer than a good hat. Fedora, Newsboy, Bandit or Pork Pie - anything but a baseball cap, and you don't even need to ask me to take my clothes off (;
