If you told him that you would let him know then you absolutely should bring it back up. Closed mouths don't get fed. You told him you had to think about it. Now that you've thought about it, you need to mention it. While it might be nice for him to bring it back up, you're the reason for the holdup in the first place so just call him up and say, "honey, I decided what i wanted to do."
That should suffice.
