In a movie, this is seen as romantic.
In real life, if you cut off any possible method he had of contacting you, and he's not a total jerk, he is likely going to take that as a teensy weensy hint that you don't want to talk to him at all. And, if he's got any basic decency, he's going to respect your wishes.
You sent a pretty strong signal that you want nothing whatsoever to do with him, and he's respecting that. Consider that door closed and move on.
If you don't want anything more to do with him, move on. If you're purposefully making it more difficult for him to get in contact with you in hopes he'll want you back, it won't work.

I think that if a male really wants to contact you, then he will. But only within the scope of reality: mutual friends, facebook, phone, email... You've made it more than clear that you don't want him to contact you. You deleted him out of your life AND changed your number.
