I'm not drunk, but I'll answer this question. maria and arnold are dievoriciing, or "divorcing" as sober people call it, because of infidelity.
arnold cheated on maria with their housekeeper. He was sleeping with her over many, many years. In fact, they have a son born out of this relationship.
Also, arnold is a notorious cheater, and I'm sure maria knew of this for years, but somehow decided to ride it out until arnold's political life was winding down.
I wonder if you will be reading this drunk. And if so, will it make sense to you? I am trying to write my answer drunk-proof. No in depth analysis, no complex word play, just you, me and the facts leading up to the dievoricii.
