Very good point. If men hate being called "cute" or "adorable", why would they be surprised that women don't like it? Is it the fact that we are the "smaller sex" that makes it ok?

I'm going to do you a favor here. You're a great guy, and you mean well, as I'm sure most men do when they use this term to refer to us lady-folk. But when you said, "Remind me to never call the GuySpeak faithful "cute"!" I think you should expand that to include most, if not all, adult women. Once we reach a certain maturity level (note that I said "maturity" and not "age", since growth varies greatly from one individual to another,) it becomes inappropriate. And, in some cases, actually insulting. Various females will tolerate it better or worse than others. Certain women will pretend to like it because we don't want to hurt your feelings (since we know you mean well.) But I'd say a good 90% of mature women dislike being referred to as "cute."
So, unless you know for a fact that the lady you are speaking to enjoys it, please refrain. We really will appreciate it.
It's not men's fault. For a long time this seemingly harmless term is ok, even endearing, and then suddenly it's not. Confusion ensues. Women are complicated creatures. Take comfort in the fact that at least some of us understand that, and don't expect you to be mind readers. If you're lucky you'll get a women who will help you along and translate. Or perhaps just be straight-forward so you don't have to guess what the hell we're trying to communicate to you. ;-)
You may consider the fairer sex to be more complicated but that is because women are conditioned to act that way. In reality there is no real difference between a man and women besides the obvious physical ones. We both think and feel the same. A lot of guys get upset at being called cute by women thinking it a bad thing, women do the same.

I know many including myself that hated being "cute" but called people they liked and would bang in an instant cute without thinking.

Think bout this if you think a puppy is cute, you usually want to pet it, be you guy or girl. Your instantly interested in it. The same thing applies to you being cute. People like cute.
On another note, i've been called cute alot by girls and when I was a kid I would get soo mad or sad and took it as being condescending or meaning I'm ok or unattractive. I just found out girls call a guy cute, cause they either aren't outgoing enough to say hot, they are interested in u, they want to be friends, or many other reasons. but mostly meaning they are interested.
People are people and guys and girls the same, we don't really think too differently. All the same reasons I would call a girl cute are the same a girl would call a guy cute.
