I've heard you shouldn't try to make a guy jealous when you're talking/dating them. How true is that and why? The only reason I would do that is to is if they like me and its kinda cute.

It's very true because life is not like a romantic comedy, and playing with people's feelings is both a crappy thing to do and unlikely to lead to a healthy relationship.

Put yourself in his shoes, for a second, and imagine how you'd feel if somebody jerked you around because they thought it was "kind of cute". Would you stick around for that person, or dump them for somebody else?

This isn't even getting into backfire potential. It baffles me to this day that people think these kinds of games always work out in their favor, when in reality they rarely do. So, don't play games.

I think it can work to some extent, but most of the time it's too big of a gamble.

it only works if your boyfriend is a sparkly vampire.

How do you mean, it "works"? If you're using the jealousy thing "working" to mean "you get the guy you want", then yes, sometimes it "works". But really, what do you have? A guy who might not be with you for who you are, but only thinks he wants to be with you because of the way you've manipulated him.

Bravo. An excellent start to a relationship.

LOL so many people think life is but a romcom. Sure, its all fun until a jealous boyfriend blows off the other dude's head.

Wait until she likes a guy and he makes her jealous...

the "why is it so bad to play games" questions make me want to shake people sometimes. seriously. these are the same people putting "no games please" in their online profiles i'm sure. SHEESH. baffles me too RP. karma's a boomerang, girly, be careful what you wish for.

I'm not gonna lie, sometimes it takes a guy flirting with someone else to get me to see that I like them. It ONLY ONLY works if two conditions hold true, however: 1) It is very early in the relationship and you're not official or getting serious (i.e. you're in the "talking"/showing-interest phase) and 2) They don't cross the limit. Depends on the stage of the relationship, really. If we're official and someone tries to make me jealous, I'll find that immature/game-y and not cute or attractive.
