If you are all cool with it, go for it.
My personal preference is for serial monogamy, but I can see the appeal of polyamory. And no, for once I am not talking about sex. Or not just about sex. Lets be honest, sex is available pretty much everywhere at any time.
One of my favorite authors - and one to whom I owe a lot of my own style, and yes, I met him once, long ago, talked for hours, and that is a hugely treasured memory - spent 5 different novels looking at different forms of marriages and came up with four that are objectively better than what we have now. Better in the sense that the entire purpose of family is to raise, educate and protect the children.
I have even recommended a break and some side experimenting to a questioner here. The follow up revealed the almost invariable problem with polyamory.
Raging, snarling, green eyed jealousy.
We are a possessive bunch of primates, on the whole. My house. My clothes. My woman. My man.
Polyamory can work. For a while. But sooner or later, someone gets jealous.
Pity, that.
I’m all for monogamy. I think you can only get true intimacy that way. Best of luck though….
I have been venturing into this world myself. I suggest reading "The Ethical Slut". It can help you answer a lot of the questions you might have.
