My best friend recently found out that her exboyfriend took naked pictures of her on his phone when she was sleeping. I think that's kind of a big deal but she just kind of brushed it off and said I was over reacting. I mean that is a big deal right?

Absolutely, it's a big deal. It's creepy, dishonest, and a total violation of her privacy. Sex, intimacy and relationships are all built on consent. You ask me if I'm okay with something, and if I say "yes," then go for it. If I say "no," don't. And not asking me, and doing something with out my input, is a sign of a person who doesn't respect any boundaries, save the boundaries of their own ego.

It is a big deal. For her. Not yours. She's asked you for your opinion. You've had your say. That's what friends are for... to offer their advice. If she doesn't think it's a big deal, that's her problem. Maybe it isn't. Maybe it turns her on. I've dated my fair share of exhibitionists... I don't think it's totally crazy to think one of them would have been okay with me taking a shot of them nekkid while they slept. Improbable, but not impossible. Who knows.

Maybe she'll think it's a big deal when it's posted online.

Yep, as soon as that pic is shot, it pretty much becomes public domain. As she'll find out someday when he posts the stuff on Facebook.

I'd flip my sh*t if I were the one with naked pics of myself on my ex-bf's phone. Then I'd go after my ex-bf, take his phone, and delete all those pics.

Hmm, it depends. Were the two of them in the habit of doing that? And he just happens to possess pics that he didn't destroy when the relationship ended? My gf and I take pictures of each other sleeping. . . but we usually do it with the other person's camera so they have the option of deciding whether to keep it or delete it. I'm sure if either one of us asked to other to stop, it would stop. Context matters - this could just be a case of buyers remorse.

Kamakula took those pictures of his gf sleeping on his own cam and did not offer to delete them....lies lies lies!

@Shopie Speaking as a man, and someone with a decent knowledge of the current technology, I can say that if I was to take naked pics of my gf on my phone they'd be backed up in at least two other places so deleting them from the phone is pointless. Anyone who knows how to use a cell phone and a computer, beyond making calls and typing resumes, will know how to do this and likely will, ESPECIALLY with something that they want to keep for a long time, or forever, like naked pictures. You could almost compare it to photos of your newborn that are on your cell, they're backed up elsewhere too. Not to say the to pictures would be equal but in importance they would be.
