You know, there's really no good answer for this one. Some guys just...mess up. Look, any person with even an iota of common sense knows that when you go on vacation and you have a giflriend/boyfriend back home, you are required to check in with them daily and text a couple of times a day just as a part of relationship decorum.

And it might be easy to miss the first day (you're traveling, settling in) but anything after that and it's doghouse time. As a mate, your sole requirement when out of town is to provide peace of mind to your significant other while they're away. That's where the phone calls come in. It doesn't even have to last longer than, say, five minutes. You're on vacay - there's ALWAYS a reason to get off of the phone.

I'd just say that your boyfriend is inconsiderate as hell.

But wait...have you called him? While I concede that when you're out of town, you should do more calling, the fact is you can call him too. Now if he's not answering any calls and is making you think he's laid up on some coral reef with nothing but a penny in his right hand and a Little Mermaid DVD in the other, then yeah, you should definitely call, by the way. Oh, and you have every right to be supremely frustrated and pissy with him.

But yes, inconsiderate. You might want to see how this plays out in other areas of your relationship. Does he always consider himself first? Does he stop what he's doing at any time to see to your needs? Just things to think about.

And if he just so happens to be in jail and that's why he hasn't called back, just consider all that inconsiderate talk moot and shame on you!
