If my boyfriend called me any name that implys relation, I would dump him on the spot. Thats just awkward! Theres a reason calling someone "like a brother" (or sister) is the killer of any possible chance to get together in any capacity ever!

Tariana

"Yes, dad! I mean, bro... Uhh, grandpa?"

whatislove

Oh, noooo... This is not a real question! Please, just... no.

silkysly

i got nothing...
((excuse me while i go hurl))

*still laughing* but grossed out at the same time

... if the asker could come back and confirm or deny, that'd be greeeeat... /cringe... during sex is an icky issue, day to day life not as big a deal...

Actually, I know of a couple who call each other brother and sister occasionally. I think it's a cultural thing, when they're really close. My korean cousins call their boyfriends "Oppa" which means big brother, but it's taken as a term of endearment rather than creepy creep.
Still, slightly weird to me, but whatevs.

whoa. mental note, no guyspeak before full cup of coffee has entered the bloodstream. which is exactly why she's here asking the question, because this is not something you can slip into random conversation to get some pointers. poor thing. you know, i have a teeth grating thing with the word "babe" a guy says it, i just, it just hits a nerve i dont like. i just say "i am not babe, i am chrissie." laugh when you're saying it, they get the hint and nobody's feelings are hurt.

uhhhhh....this would only work in really rare cases....such as the person above mentioned: in korean culture. But its usually more the girl calling the guy 'brother'

Like Mia mentioned it might be a cultural thing but if not, it's gross. I mean, my parents are old traditional Asian parents who call each other in literal terms "your mom" or "your dad" but it is in terms of endearment and in my language, the same word for husband is also used for addressing a lady's dad but it is depending on the context.

I did have an ex who would joke around and whenever I got rough, he would scream "Mommy" which is a huge turn off and I eventually dumped him and am glad I found a real man who doesn't scream for his mother.

You should definitely ask him to stop or break it off if it grosses you out that much. *shivers* I don't know any sane woman who finds that attractive and not a mood killer.

Thats just wrong in so many ways. If a guy said that to me i'd never see him again, thats just so creepy

Bibonoshoes

Such a huge no-no.
No way I would accept that. I mean, even in other cultures, calling the other "Mom" "dad" "bro/sis" during sex ?! Such a huge
1. turn off : "wait, what ?"
2. creepy thing : "do I look anything like your mom/sis ? Did anything happen with your mom/sis ? (gross questions I could not help asking myself in this situation).

It is fine in everyday life, because he has a daily life with them, but NOT DURING SEX

PERV!!!!

Sometimes it is used when the behavior is like that of a brother sis, mom. In other word cut out the bossiness etc. During sex could be a habit to break.
If it dulls the moment call him on it assertively not hostile. In any relationship think before negativity. To those who think they are creeped out open your mind to what is being communicated and if the person needs help with a acceptable nickname help them while saying that the moniker they assigned to you is a turn off and aggravating
What if the person is doing it in moments of desire then stop them, explain and come up with a behaviorist method of reminding them that they said it!.

Tariana

Huh?! (o.O)

Cary McNeal

WTF? I weep for the future.

user-pic

It is really creepy, but then, so is the fact that some men like to be called "daddy" and that a synonym for "infant" (= baby) is one of the most frequent terms of endearment in English languague.

user-pic

This reminds me of Japan...

user-pic

In Spanish speaking cultures, it's not unusual for men to call their chicks "mom" or "sister", and women also call their guys "dad" and "brother". It turns some people on.

In my case, I also think it's weird.

oh god!! Reading this makes me wanna shoot myself! :O
