Texting is just like any other form of writing; some people have a talent for expressing themselves, and some don't. If you're not good with writing, texting isn't going to be much different. In fact it's probably going to be worse, since texting involves a pretty boring typing method and has a strict limit on how many characters you can send.
Now, if he's falling asleep on your dates...yeah, be worried. But don't judge him just because he's not a poet on his smartphone.
