My boyfriend just got back from Florida and his female friend wrote on his Facebook wall "I wish I could have gone with you!" He wrote back and said he was going back next semester and she should definitely come along....why is he doing this publicly?!

Because he's a super turbo douche-troll who has zero respect for you. Even if he's just being friendly, he shouldn't do that in a public forum. Presumably your pals know he's your boyfriend, and they're going to see him talking about going to Florida with some other girl. Now he's put your friends in a similar position to the Jersey Shore gang when they see Ronnie making out with "grenades" in the club and then crawling into bed with Sammi Sweetheart. And no one should ever have to feel like one of the orange mutants on Jersey Shore.

Did he invite you to Florida? Sounds like he's having a grand ol' time without you. It's like if you were a kid, and your parents went to Disneyland without you and then invited their grown-up friends to come along the next time. It's suck-tastic behavior on an grand level. And he's probably not even cheating! Only a complete idiot would talk to the girl he intends to cheat with over public Facebook comments. He's just committing an epic fail in the good boyfriend department.

Even if he's just inviting a friend to join his big group the next time they head down to Fort Lauderdale or whatever, it is still making you uncomfortable. If you were going, things would be different. Regardless, he needs to think about how his actions on Facebook make you feel. It also seems like you feel weird about the trip in general. Talk about that first. Were you not able to go, or did he not want you to go? (If the latter, that's a sign he might be up to something.) If you trust him and are fine with him going on the trip, at least ask him to not openly invite other girls on Facebook. He's acting like a single guy. Maybe this is a sign that he secretly wishes he was one.

I happen to disagree, actually. The fact that he did it publicly makes it less suspicious. At least he's not hiding anything from you. Plus, he's going next year? That's a long ways away. Things change. They may not even be friends by then.

And let me say, that I agree it is really douchey. But I don't think it means he's cheating or anything like that. Give the boy some credit. And put yourself in his shoes. You got back from a trip, and a guy friend asked to go with you, what would you say?

Also, I do think that Nick hit it right on when he said that it made you uncomfortable, which means that it's not okay. I just wanted to put in some food for thought....

Umm, if a guy friend asked me that, I would say I'd have to make sure it's okay with my boyfriend. Or better yet, I would have just agreed with him and said, "Yeah, we had some good times. Should have been there!" You never actually make plans and tell the person when you're going back, that's just motarded!

I don't actually see a problem with this. He's being friendly- it sounds like typical FB wall-to-wall bs to me. Still, if he's inviting anyone, you had better be first on that list!

He's doing this because she's a better option than you.
