My husband made a Tagged.com profile and there's just a bunch of girls on his friends list. Should I be worried?

I'm worried that I've never heard of Tagged.com. I thought everyone was doing Foursquare now. Hold on, let me look at it...

Wow, what a stupid website. There's literally a dude doing a handstand on their "about us" page. What does that have to do with social networking? This site hasn't exactly set the Web on fire. "Get tagged!" I can see why I've never heard of it.

Anyway, it looks fairly harmless. As Devore says, online life isn't always real life. He could just be looking for a board game club to join, or some folks to play ModNation Racers with online. Is he particularly social offline? Does he have trouble making friends? I know that everyone is going to go "He's looking to cheat!" but it's not fair to always jump to that conclusion. Not everyone is a dog. Some people have trouble making friends in the real world and need these sort of sites. I don't think he should be thrown under the bus just yet.

On the other hand, there does seem to be a heavier dating element to Tagged than Facebook. They make a point of saying that, "Other social networks are for staying in touch with people you already know. At Tagged, we make it easy to meet new people through social games, friend suggestions, browsing profiles, group interests and much more." (Thanks, corporate website trying to appeal to the kids!) The goal seems to be to meet new people, so by signing up, it's a sign that he's at least trying to branch outside of his current social circle.

I see no problem with asking him about it. Tell him you're interested in joining and see if he gets weird and sweaty. Are the girls on his friends list all strangers? (I'm going to guess about 70% of them are fake spam profiles for porn sites.) Maybe they're coworkers or old school friends. It's a weird grey area since Tagged is ostensibly a "fun" social networking site for meeting new people and not a straight up dating site like Match or OK Cupid. That said, plenty of people do hook up through Facebook/MySpace/Bebo/etc.

Also, clearly the site is aiming at the younger crowd. How old is your husband? If he's over 25, I'm thinking he's too old for this site. It's like an old guy wearing skinny jeans-- in the end, nobody wins.

If you're still worried after talking to him, tell him about this hot new social networking site called Friendster. I guarantee he won't be meeting anyone on that ghost town.

I would be worried to be honest. I found out that my a-hole of a dad was cheating on my mom with women from that website. Your husband might not be doing anything wrong. I'm just saying be a bit worried.

As much as I am sorry about what you father did to your mother, it is wrong to assume her husband is doing the same. For all you know, he was bored one day and spent way too much time on the internet. Like Nick said, talking things out is the best option, because you get to see their body language as they tell you, and depending on your trust, could alleviate all of your doubts.

Friendster?! Hahahahahahahaha!
That just put me in mind to that old "Barney Carnage" computer game back in the mid-90's. At least ten ways to kill that annoying singing dino.
Fan-tab-ulous!

It would seem harmless, apart from the browsing that allows you to find people less than five miles from your area. I don't know, that seems A LOT more dating/hook-up oriented than facebook.

well having had experience with the site I can say it is much more of a hook up site in my experience. I have to say I do not condone cking up on a guy but was glad I did when I found all his friends were female and close to where we lived. I would ask him about it first and then say it makes you uncomfortable . If he still does not get off of it I would ck for other signs and realize it may not be the same relationship you had before.

If I were her, I'd be worried, especially if I'd never heard of any of the girls before. Back when I broke up with my ex, I got a tagged profile, hooked up with four random strangers from there.. and found that people in happy relationships don't use that website.

If her husband actually showed her the website, his profile and friends list, it might not be a big deal, and maybe she can create her own profile if she wants. But if she found out about it on her own, and he's hiding it from her, then that's a different story. That is reason for concern, and she has a right to be worried. Either way, if it makes her feel uncomfortable, she should voice her opinions, and hopefully, he'll do the right thing and delete it.

FYI: Tagged.com is the FOURTH largest social networking website out there, and is definately about "hooking up". You MAKE friends there, its not about adding friends from the real world and keeping in touch.... if his friends list is just girls, that's what he's doing. Check his relationship status/interested in status to see how he's positioning himself.

Tagged is definitely a site to meet people to hook up with and date, the fact that only girls are his friends is a giveaway, I myself had a tagged account and 100% of the guys just wanted to hook up
