OK, is he just not into me or is just BS? I met a guy who cannot ejaculate with a condom. Can only come without one lying down...yep even a blow job. Is it performance anxiety? Do i simply move on?

Jeez, why would you bail? Maybe your hey nonny nonny is busted. You ever think of that? OMG PANICSIES!

Look, condoms reduce friction and sensitivity. They're rubber dong socks. They are a necessary evil, as they protect against most nasty STDs, including unexpected love critters. And should be used in the early stages of a relationship or during a wild, drunken hook-up on a beach. Yes, they break. But if rolled on properly, the odds are greater that they won't. Yes, birth control is expensive and annoying. But man is it worth it. Split the costs, get tested, and rock each other bareback.

Wearing a condom during sex is like eating a meal with a mouth full of trash bags. It can be very difficult for a dude to get off while wearing one. Sometimes, you can't even feel anything. And that's what it's about. That hot flesh-to-flesh action. There are dudes who can win the prize with a condom. But even they'd agree it's better without. Of course, there are guys who use condoms to keep from earning the nickname "The Thirty Second Wonder." But generally, penis sheaths try to maximize protection without minimizing friction. They aren't perfect...

Try being patient and not so eager to bolt. Lots of women are tricky to figure out in bed. It takes a little time and a lot of laughter and some patience to figure out the combination to their locker of lust. Use lube with your guy. Finish him off without the condom. Oral sex with a condom is quite a precaution, as the chance of contracting the oral herpz or other STDs from straight mouth love is relatively low.

But look, if he's hard, he's into you. Everything else is detail. Detail you should try and figure out without freaking or making him feel like a freak.

JDV is right on the money with this one. I couldn't have said it better, no matter how hard I tried. Somebody stop me, these puns are killing me.

I can't wait until there's hormonal birth control for men. It's not just the expenses that suck, but the added hormones can really mess with you in the first months of use. Not for all women, obviously, but it was a bitch to get used to for me.

Mannon

I'm so there when this eventually happens. Extra precautions are always a good thing.

I hope this doesn't mean that you let him go without a condom. I've known guys who whine, "Condoms just don't feel as good, and I don't wanna wear one." No, they DON'T feel as good as the real thing, and for that, I'm sorry. But with all the STDs out there (not to mention winding up with a bun in the oven), don't let him try to talk you out of it! Unless you're in a very stable relationship (like married or long-time bf/gf) and you both want offspring, make him wear the love glove.

There is no way to test a man for HPV .So while that suggestion of getting tested and going on birth control is all well in good, you are very misinformed. And as we know, HPV is linked to certain types of cancers (not just cervical, oral cancer as well) . SO , wrap it up (although, that seems to be the problem in this case ) ... In all honesty, if a man doesn't wear a condom I walk away. It sucks, but its the reality of the world we live in. Its not just unwanted pregnancies, we're talking about life threatening diseases. And frankly I don't wanna die for something I could achieve doing on my own lol

Unfortunately though, you can also get HPV even WITH a condom. Sort of a lose-lose situation if you're having sex, period.

Thanks for noting this. There are lots of things condoms only partially or not at all protect from!

Best bet is to ALWAYS wait for testing and then still be cautious! And don't forget many disease require multiple tests to be sure.

A friend of mine suggested dating someone who gives blood since they have to screen for diseases, which I found kind of amusing. :)

That's a really bad idea. Maybe it's different in some places, but usually, when you give blood, you have no idea if they use your blood or not. It's tested after it's drawn. And if it comes up with "chock full of diseases," the Red Cross or whatever isn't obligated to call you and tell you you're a disease factory.

If you're not grown up enough to go to the clinic and say, "I want to be tested for STDS," and instead have to hide behind donating blood, then you probably shouldn't be boinking. Just sayin'.

Sorry Laje, don't mean to offend your answer -- I'm just lookin' out for safety, here. :)

I just want to suggest something awesome that I learned about recently in health class, the female condom! I know it sounds weird, but if the guy won't do it, it's up to us women to take care of business. He'll have no reason to object.

Dovey

That's a fair point, but it's more than that. If a guy won't wrap it up, he doesn't care about your safety. For me, that would be the end of it. No sex, ever, for a guy who won't put on a condom.

Sophie Jean

Damn right! Plus, I guess a female condom isn't supposed to interfere with a male's sensitivity, which makes me wonder if the insensitivity then falls on women....

Anyway, I guess plastic (polyurethane) condoms are stronger, thinner, and less constricting on the male penis. I guess they're more expensive, but in my opinion that sounds better all around. Especially if someone has a latex allergy.

I have a blood condition that makes me especially vulnerable to blood clots, heart problems, and other potentially fatal side effects caused by contraceptives. Even if that weren't the case, pumping artificial hormones into your body isn't good for anyone, and side effects can be severe.
John, it is irresponsible of you to sweepingly suggest that birth control is "totally worth it". If a girl doesn't want to put harmful drugs into her body for the sake of some dude's pleasure who can't be arsed to wear a harmless piece of latex, she shouldn't have to.
Have you looked into hormonal contraceptives for men? They're out there, you know. And if you haven't, then it's unfair for you to ask anyone else do go on the pill.
