This is a tough one, considering that I'm currently in the middle of Red Dead Redemption and literally cannot think about anything else. For anyone unfamiliar with the game, it's basically Grand Theft Auto in the Old West. And it's easily the best game of the year. I'm usually pretty good when it comes to balancing video games and real life, but the folks at RockStar have seriously got their hooks in me this time. The story is compelling, the graphics are fantastic, and there is so
much to do. I spend an obscene amount of time just hunting coyotes. I
haven't been this into a Western game since Oregon Trail in the second grade. It's gotten so bad, I fear my girlfriend is going to chuck the game out the window and replace it with a Sex and the City DVD so that when I open the box, I'll see Carrie and the gang mocking me.
Anyway, it sounds like you're having issues with your guy right now. Tell him you need some space for an evening. Play some Red Dead, watch some Dexter-- whatever you need to do to take some time for yourself. Then, when you're ready, tell him you want to talk. Calmly explain what's bothering you. Tell him what needs to change if you're going to stay together. If he cares about you, he'll work things out. But it's always good to take a little time away to cool off so that you can approach the conversation rationally. Video games can be a good release that way.
Of course, no matter how amazing the video game, a good relationship should always win out. A bad one, on the other hand? Well, there's always Rock Band 3...

Wait, you're JUST NOW playing RDR? *Smacks Nick*
I got it a while back but was distracted by other games, work, and, uh, nice summer weather. Now I don't have to worry about silly things like going outside.
Ah. I see. ;)
Oh yeah, Dexter. :D
