Since you apparently have a wife (lucky her!), idk if you remember the awkward, self esteem downer realization that you're the only one who's single at a party (esp. when your crush is there w. his gf, but that's another story). How do you handle this with class (aka without feeling like Bridget Jones)?

Well, she might debate the lucky part. Know I do regularly! We are both what is euphemistically referred to as "strong personalities" which invariably means arrogant, agressive and assholish.

I used to love being the only singleton at a party though. The hunting is always fun - wrote a full answer on how to grab your target - and watching the dynamics of drunk couples is always hysterical.

Sure, it ain't handling things with class - but you didn't expect that of me. Right?

as a fashion writer, i just wrote an unconventional piece for the holidays on something like this. it was about what the singleton should wear to the coupled party, and my answer was in the title, confidence is the single gals sexiest accessory this holiday season. realizing the advantages of being single, such as, not having to babysit the drunk boyfriend, or being able to leave when YOU want, not when HE wants, ups the confidence factor quite a bit. if you think you are Bridget Jones you are going to act like Bridget Jones and will be a man repellant. if you think you are the sexiest free-est bird there, you have just increased your chances of being a man magnet, AND, you still get to decide who and when you go home with....or not. some of my best nights out were going home alone, and i always was a little more grateful the following morning when my coupled gal pals would call me griping about this that or the other thing that HE did to ruin their partay. i used to be one of those girls but i've recently celebrated my independence day. enjoy your status, celebrate it and flaunt it, it's one of those things you don't realize how much fun it is till its gone.

Oh god, I used to love going to parties single, or with a few girlfriends! You can totally spend 2 hours primping, look your most fabulous and talk to whoever you want without having to make sure you talk to your date or keep your date occupied. You also don't get those marriage questions or how long have you been dating or where did you meet bullshit. You can prance about, drink in hand, eye-fucking whoever you want and talking to others about yourself, themselves and mutual interests. Can I break up with my boyfriend now?
