Weird Question: My boyfriend is moving in and I'm really nervous. I'm afraid of what he'll think when he sees me in the morning. Will he be turned off by my messy hair/oily skin/bad breath? What can I do?

That's not a weird question at all. Cohabitation is a big deal. It can bring out the best and worst in a relationship. This is a serious decision, and far too many people make it flippantly. Believe me, the last time I lived with a girlfriend, it ended the way the Vietnam ended, with me hanging off the skids of a helicopter.

The two of you are going to learn a whole bunch of things about each other. But hey, you both signed up for this.

I think it is totally appropriate and normal to be nervous. It's kind of cute. You want to be the best you can for your man, and I'll bet he wants to be the best man he can for his woman. But one day, you're going to discover he likes to clip his toenails in bed. Or thinks that beer cans magically dispose of themselves. Or you'll discover Cheez Whiz fingerprints on the wall. Be patient, don't nag, and make sure you are talking with him, not at him. Don't be a nag. That's the surest way he won't turn into an eye rolling teenage dorkoid. I would set ground rules from the get-go. Unsexy, maybe, but it's preemptive damage control. Divide up chores, talk about bills, and coordinate schedules. Not everyone gets up at the crack of dawn. Also: groceries. We all have busy lives. I've found that shopping together is a fun form of cohabitation relationship maintenance. You're out. Talking. Buying delicious noms.

I'm fairly sure he knows ladies poop (albeit, marshmallows.) I'm also confidant that he must have strong feelings for you. Dude is moving in. Most men, myself included, think a woman is at her most beautiful in the morning. That's not a line. Seriously. If you're a guy waking up next to your girlfriend or wife, your day gets two sunrises.

Oh, and love is acting like your significant other's morning breath doesn't smell like dragon puke long enough to get up and brush your own teeth.

Guys, what can I do to make you read my question ? I've send it so many times.. It's not a repeated topic or a completely idiotic one word answer question, and I think this website is the only place men are actually honest about feeling etc. I can't even get my best male friend to give me a straight answer about my situation..

same here, how do i get them to answer my question

Just ask it now, and we'll answer it here. We aren't guys (at least I'm not), but we're pretty smart.

I totally agree about the groceries and doing seemingly boring things together... my man and I shop for groceries together and have a lot of fun. Something about saving a dollar on eggs just brings you closer to someone, I guess... haha.

And, I will say this... you will know if you made the right choice in moving in with this guy quickly. Forget about the annoying, little habits. Focus on picturing this situation for the rest of your life. If you are still uncomfortable after the first year, that's a big sign.

Good luck and HAVE FUN!!

All I gotta say is...cohabitation is quite the eye-opener. Either your guy will be sweet like JDV and fall more in love with your human side, or be totally disillusioned when he realizes that you don't wake up with minty fresh breath and perfectly made-up.
I've lived with both kinds. Hopefully you get the first kind. And I mean that in the nicest way.

You need a trophy for being amazing.
Seriously.
This made me happy. And a LOT less nervous about waking up for the first time with my boyfriend there to witness my bedhead...haha
