Nine times out of ten, the sex we are having. In fact, let's up that to ten out of ten. The fact that you ask this question makes me wonder what the women I've had sex with are thinking about during sex, quite frankly. Because I was just sort of, you know, having the sex.
Guys, as a rule, are simple creatures (yes, it's a rule with many exceptions). A guy in the midst of furious coitus becomes even simpler. When we're getting freaky, we have entered heat-seeking, no-holds-barred git-r-done mode, and all thoughts besides banging you into a state of awed pleasure are momentarily set aside.
I imagine this system might break down somewhat when you've been together for a long while. With the security and comfort of a long-term, loving relationship comes the freedom of having sex without expectations, and sex without expectations can occasionally turn into mentally going over your grocery list while helping your partner "get there."
But most of the time, right in the moment, the animal part takes over and we are essentially robots designed to hump. I'm not sure if that knowledge will come as a source of comfort or disappointment (no, we're not usually reciting romantic poetry to you in our heads), but there it is.
Maybe it comes from a secret fear that every time we have sex may be the last. Maybe we're just wired to bone (yes, that one). Whatever the reason, know that you never have our attention more fully than when we are making sweet, sweet love to one another's orifices.

I think(as far as girls go) it all depends on how good it is...if its really good we just think the typical "harder, softer, slower, faster" vs. if its kinda dull...then its the "I hope you dont have an STD, I painted my toenails right?" or the ultimate diss "I hope he finishes soon" LOL
