I'm not sure that's the right approach for a first date. It's a date, not a job interview--if you show up with a list of pre-planned questions to try to rule this guy worthy or not worthy of your time, you probably won't get a second date with him. No one wants to be interrogated, and most people will resent you trying to judge them that quickly.
I applaud your initiative, but I think you're going a bit too fast. To me, the idea of a first date is to see if you have any basic chemistry with each other. Of course you want to get to know each other, but why not just talk and let the conversation go where it goes? Let the questions arise organically from the chat? You can find out the serious stuff later--that is, if there is a later. If you don't mesh with the guy on a basic level on the first date, you won't care what he thinks about kids or global warming or the source of the Taos Hum, anyway.
First dates should be light and fun, if you ask me (and you did!). Through spontaneous conversation, you will find out enough about the guy to know if you're interested in knowing him better. Save the burning questions for later dates and just see if you have a connection on the first one.
Thanks for the question.
Maybe find out if they're married, lol....
haha.. both very good points ;)
I agree, I heard a woman went on a date with a guy and then a few weeks later found out the jerk was married
