While the scholastic fortitude of say, Plato, often eludes me, I'd bet all of the money in my pocket and yours that what your guy really means is:
Text me later.
But just to make sure that we are fully digesting all that lies in said sentence of action, let's dissect, analyze, and then reconstruct. And if that doesn't work, in the end, we can always just destroy and rebuild.
First we have the verb, text. Or perhaps it is a noun. You see, "text" as a noun could simply refer to the main body of matter in a manuscript, book, newspaper, etc. However, I get the sneaking suspicion that in your sentence, "text" is used as a verb, which means to send a collection of letters, numbers, or oddly-combinationed symbols to somebody's electronic device digitially.
The second term however is a little tricky. "Me" by itself could quite simply mean, "you" assuming that the "you" in question is actually "me" in answer. Or not. Or perphaps "Me" is shorthand for somebody's name which could easily mean that he's requesting, nay demanding, that you send some letters/numbers/symbols to somebody named "Me". Of course, that could be confusing since I mean, seriously, how rude is it to be nicknamed "Me" when most people would read "me" and assume that you know it's them. Pronouns rock.
Like crack cocaine only the exact opposite.
Lastly, we have "later" which is a measure of time. So like, for example, if you sent a text message right now? Totally flagrant. Though if you do it liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike...NOW...that might not be so flagrant because you see, now (or then) is totally later from, well, the then that existed when we secondly said "now". For most people, the term "later" usually denotes a degree of time where at least an hour has lapsed. How do I know this? I don't, I just made it up. But it seems plausible, no?
So after all that, what we've come full circle.
Your dude means exactly what he says, "send him a text later." Preferably one that demands sex.
Thank you.
It was written.
LMAO! Thank you so much for lightening and brightening my day!
HA! Its funny because when someone says "text me",or "call me later" I never do!! But its only because im a smartass & I like to hear people say "hey why didnt you text or call me later like I said?!" & my response is always "well I was about to & you just beat me to it!ya know you really should try exercising a lil more patience." But its really because I dont know how to measure later unless they say "later today" or "later this week" or "later this month, year" or whatever!
Hilarious!
hahahaha ur so funny:)
The grammar Nazi (or so I have been called) in me absolutely adores this post, and consequently, adores you for writing it.
