Strip clubs aren't brothels. At least the ones that stay in business aren't anyway. The back room is just giving the suckers more of the same they just got for $20, only now "one-on-one" and "private." They're paying a ton of money to continue the illusion that the dancer sees them as more than just a walking night school tuition fund.
If a guy says he got more than a lapdance in a private room of a strip club, first off, eww, gross, why are you with a guy who brags about this sort of thing? And, two, he's lying.
Strip clubs are like porn -- the sooner you take the scary "they're leading my man astray" edge away from them, you'll realize they're just a fairly depressing place for lonely men to waste money at.
Thanks for the insight on this one. Initially I was totally fine with the idea of my man going to a strip club, have even considered going with him just to see what the fuss was about (since some are couples friendly). But the more involved we have become in the relationship the less comfortable I am with the whole strip club scenario.
But looking at it that way, I suppose its true... not like most men are going to get more than some mental images to wank to when he gets home (so .... same as porn)
NOT true. No, no, no. Take it from someone who got offered a job at a strip joint (and is considering working there) who knows several people with connections to both the dancers and managers there--stuff DOES happen. All the time. I know two girls who were fired in the same week at two different clubs for giving head in the private rooms. Note that they were fired not for the act, but for not properly upping their tip-out to the doorman.
If your guy goes into a private room with a stripper, you have reason to be concerned. I'm sorry to say it, but it's true. It doesn't necessarily mean something's gonna happen, but it's a definite possibility (if he's got the money, that is.)
I agree. There is a very famous all-nude establishment near my town and I've met two of their dancers and a bouncer - things definitely get crazy there that I won't even describe in an anonymous comment. I do think that is a rarity though, and most clubs are as Nick described. I have a lot of male friends, and none of them seem to really enjoy strip clubs as much as they are expected to.
