Hmmm, you could have given me a bit more to work on here ...
However, seeing as I know everything about everyone, with just the slightest clue, I am going to give you a pop quiz. Answer yes or no to the following:
1/ You have adequate hygiene.
2/ You wear sensible shoes.
3/ You enjoy eating.
4/ You have more than one cat.
5/ You collect dolls or porcelain figures.
6/ You prefer to read.
7/ You have thick, luxuriant red hair.
8/ You have thick, luxuriant hair, of any color, on your legs.
9/ You wear thick, horn rimmed glasses.
10/ You avoid mirrors
11/ You have the personality of a bear with a broken tooth.
12/ You are lazy.
If you answered yes to two or more of those, you are walking man repellant. If you answered no to all of them, you might want to take the test again, this time answering honestly. Question 12 should be a yes, for definite.
In all seriousness, what are you doing on a Sunday night asking a question here when you should be updating your OKcupid or Match profile, hitting a club, a poetry reading or a party and generally getting yourself out there? I know they say "good things come to those who wait," but you been waiting long enough.
Get up, get out and get doing, unless you expect the man of your dreams to fall through the roof and land on your couch. Nothing in life is easy - but not trying makes it impossible.
ha ha ha I answered 'yes' to 5. It explains everything :D
I answered 'yes' to 1, 3, and 6 and THAT makes me walking man repellant? I think I WANT to repel those guys. They make my couch look appealing...
So you have merely adequate hygiene, comfort eat, and prefer fantasy to reality?
Ahhh... now that is a *totally* different translation than what I interpreted.
I thought #1 meant "at least" adequate hygiene -- because anything less would obviously be a repellent. I read #3 literally, as in I like to eat food. But to excess? Uh, that would be a "no". I thought #6 meant I prefer to read than to not be able to, instead of prefer to read instead of be with people in social settings.
Since I couldn't even understand the quiz, should I go ahead and start adopting cats now and get ahead of the curve? Clearly I'm headed in that direction...
If you can translate all the meanings, you will have made a start at learning guyspeak.
And hold off on the cats. Part two works, even for 12 yeses.
hahah true! People are afraid to get out there and make something out of their lives. Instead, they'd rather complain about not finding anyone. It isn't easy, but if you wait long enough, or you're just plain out picky, you probably deserve to be alone. If you're just sitting in your room on a saturday night, then most chances are you are not going to meet anyone. At least social networking sites are one of the things that are helping those who would rather hide behind a screen.
I think it may be because all you consider yourself to be is "35 and single". Start living your life for yourself, without concern for a ticking clock or finding a man, and happiness (maybe in the form of a man) will find you.
Why is #7 bad?
Most guys I know are wary of women with red hair.
According to one of my sources, a dear friend who happens to be a hairdresser, many women with red hair go blonde or brunette while on the hunt, and only go back to red when they are in a relationship. Many brunettes go red when in a relationship too - my friends gals have and my current lady certainly has!
So it acts like a hands off signal, the same as a wedding ring.
Huh.
What? That's plumb crazy. I'm a red-head, and I've never heard (from a guy or a chick) that red hair "acts like a hands-off signal." I've been told by guys that red hair is sexy, unique, eye-catching. Dyeing your hair in order to get a man or advertise that you're spoken for is the silliest idea I've yet read on this site. I think you may want to ask your friends/gf what their motive for dyeing actually was - I suspect it's simply because they wanted a new look, not because they thought their hair, of all things, would transmit their relationship status!
Hmmmm, now someone needs to post a question asking about the correlation between red-headedness and being upiity.... hahaha
