Technically that's not true. Penises aren't like breasts-- they are not composed of fatty tissue. Fat on the lower abdomen can cause it to look smaller, as the base is being covered up.
Anyway, it should be noted that I'm not a doctor. But based on my research, and vague memory of 8th grade sex education, I am pretty certain that the penis doesn't shrink with age.

As an old fat guy (I just turned 61) I can somewhat back up Adrias comment.
Because the base of the penis is attached to the pelvic bone, as you expand some of it gets coverd up. Effectively shorting it's length.
The shrinking with weight thing is kind of true. The base of the penise iks ancored to the pelvic bone, so as he expands it covers it up, effectivly making it shorter.
If the older man is physically fit and keeps his sex life active there is no shrinkage. My man is equipped at 50 and is a better lover now after 25 years than when we first met. He keeps his body tone and it's a complete turn on!

Well...being a 75 year old man...200 pounds heavier than i was when i was 20...and if that was true about the 35 pounds shrinks it one inch...than i would be at a negative 2 inch penis right now. Def not true. My honeys still love my sexual appearance down there.

mine is definately shorter and I haven't had any weight gain. I have a photo from me in my early 30's where it shows me erect and my wifes hand around it. Her hand width is about 1/2 the length of the penis. That same photo today would show her hand almost covering my erection.
Maybe is has to do with blood flow? If I had a viagra maybe it would be larger. Too bad I've never tried it.
It may go against conventional opinion, but I can definitely say without a doubt that I've shrunk. Now in my late 50's, I'm a shadow of my former self when it comes to length and girth. We've all had the girlfriends who pull out the tape measure at some time in our lives; I was 10 3/4" length X 6" circumference, in my 20's. I haven't been measured in some years, but I sincerely doubt I'd come close to that again. Have I put on a few pounds? Undoubtedly; but I'm nowhere near obese. As KJ in the above post hypothesized, it may be due to decreased blood flow...and I may be a candidate for Viagra or Cialis in the not-too-distant future. But for now, I'm just bummed. And short-changed. ;{
