Why are guys so obsessed with their dicks?

Why not? After all, it is our main erogenous zone, the seat of our identity, reminds us of it's presence frequently (and often embarrassingly) and sometimes does our thinking for us. Dick measuring contests are a way for guys to establish a peckering order amongst themselves.

Objectively, it is no more silly that obsessing about breast size, though dicks are far harder (hah!) to compare in public without getting a severe beatdown and a courtesy visit to the nearest police station.

Puns and sarcasm aside, what makes you think guys are never unhappy about their bodies? It that supposed to be only a gal thing, like using moisturiser? Just because they don't talk about it, doesn't mean that the discontent of their body not matching their body image isn't there.

Then you get the whole sex thing. A gal's breast size, body size, stretchmarks, and the various other worries we hear about constantly don't really affect her physical performance in bed.
A guy's penis size, despite the old adage "It's not the size, it's what you do with it," does, drastically at the extremes in both directions. Too small, and his partner will either laugh or politely fake it. Too large and she'll usually scream and run. Too curved and it is intensely painful for both partners.

Add to that guy's intense fears of any sharp objects anywhere near the family jewels and you have a recipe for one unhappy guy. No amount of gym time and body building is going to make up for that.

Guys, don't be dumb. This is one area where gals are way ahead on points. Cosmetic surgery is accepted now, as a way to align your physical body with your body image. It's cool. And no, they don't actually cut into the little boss. Have a look and see what is involved. (Gentle reminder to anyone clicking the link. The tastefully linked before and after pictures would be considered Not Safe For Work in pretty much every country apart from Holland.)

Hmm I don't think they'd be too happy at my work here in Holland if I were to open it there, either :P

Oh no. Enough with the cosmetic surgery, please. I've had it with women thinking they aren't "good enough" for society's standards, now they're doing it to guys too? I'm sorry MM, maybe you mean well, and I've loved every single one of your other posts and advice, but is this really neccessary? Shouldn't we be telling people (gals and guys alike) to start feeling comfortable with their own bodies, just the way they are? It seems like this would only add more insecurities where there are already enough...

Oh I totally agree, people should be happy with themselves by default. Sometimes they simply cannot be without help, whether that help is psychological, medical or surgical.
If a person's nose really bothers them, should they live with it? Or save up and get it fixed? A huge strawberry birthmark over half their face - live with it of laser it?
Why should a guy with a tiny penis not get it fixed, if it bothers him that much?

Where actual problems end and vanity begins is a decision for each individual.

Don't forget the people that feel they were born into the wrong sex's body. Guys and gals alike should be able to decide to change genders when they're adults and have thought it through.

While I for the most part would rather we not have to resort to plastic surgery for things, there are certainly instances where you'd have a small risk for a huge gain.

Now that I can agree with.

I think guys obsess about sex. Think about it. On a good week the lucky guy has sex 3 times for let’s say 20 minutes a pop. He sabotages any possibilities with some women by sexting immediately or pushing himself on her. All for one hour of pleasure a week.

The smart man will by his time & jump a few hoops here & there. In the end…, he will be the lucky dude who gets sex often. Dumb ole boys…
