Because they are teenage boys.
Have you ever asked someone out on a date? It's harder than it sounds. You're putting your ego on the line, and there's always a good chance that you'll get shot down, which is embarrassing and disheartening at any age.
It's even worse for a teenager: you're gawky, you're self-conscious, you've got a face full of zits, and you've probably asked out a grand total of one or two girls your entire life. Then if you do work up the courage to ask and the girl says no, all her friends will know, all your friends will know, and soon it will be all over the school. Total humiliation, and you know high school; stuff like that sticks to you like a stinky fart for years. "Aren't you the guy who tried to go out with Kate in 9th grade? Ha ha, FAIL!"
That's why guys are such pussies about asking girls out. If you are interested in someone, why don't you ask him out? Walk a mile in our shoes and you'll understand.
Thanks for the question.
You said it Cary.
Hes a boy, let him grow up to be a man first. Which is about another 10 years! Be patient.
GROW UP BOYS!! The worst they can say is "NO" GOD FORBID!!..If yer BALLS have NOT DROPPED...WHY ARE YOU ASKING!! ( If your 1st name is JUSTIN B.) Then you have a reason NOT to talk to a woman!
You see the keyword "grow up" (or "GROW UP BOYS!!" as you put it so delicately)? That's probably hindered by them being, what was it again? Oh, yeah. Teenagers.
