There are plenty of people you may want to talk to, but there are plenty of others you don't. I've got a bunch of numbers on my phone that honestly I don't want to see, but if I do see them, I know not to answer and just delete the voicemails.
That said, if he's that worried about it, maybe he should just delete the numbers and institute a "don't answer any number you don't recognize" policy. Talk to him about it and see what he says.
