This is a very good question and I will tell you the possible answers:
1) Because the partner's are very horny, so horny in fact that they will do ignore just about anything in order to have sex.
2) Because blood doesn't gross the person who isn't on her period out. Who knows, could be two women having sex.
3) Because one or both of the partners is a vampire and blood turns them on.
I believe these are the only possibilities.
Its not a big deal really, not uncommon. To each their own...
Period sex is no biggie. Just lay down a towel, and go for it.
Because women are all zonked out on hormones and pretty horny during their periods. Also, you're chances of getting preggers is pretty low if you have a normal cycle.
Personally, I find that orgasms help to relieve cramps.

There are "clean" ways to have sex while a lady is on her period. A product called "Instead" can be used instead of the regular products, and I'm told that generally the guy doesn't even know you're on your period. (Not that you should deceive him, but if you really want to get it on, this is a method that might not seem so unappealing to him.)
My boyfriend and I are paranoid about unplanned pregnancies, and period sex is the one time where we don't worry as much. Elice and Inkblot are rght, hormones go insane and orgasms relieve cramps. Besides, we have red washable sheets on the bed.
