So many men? Who? Where?
I don't know any guy who thinks Tiger is still "the man." Every guy I know, myself included, has the same opinion of Tiger: he's a fool. A lot of men cheat, sure, but here's a guy who had it all -- fame, wealth, a loving family, an all-American image -- and blew it all for random pieces of ass. Repeatedly. Pathologically. Did he really think he wouldn't get caught?
No, we're as pissed as you, if not more. Tiger's life was a fairy tale, one that few men will ever experience, and guys know this. We've envied Tiger for all he's accomplished, but admired him, too, because we know he worked hard to get where he is, and he seemed like a stand-up dude. We have enjoyed his success vicariously because we like having heroes.
Then this happened, and the party was over, not just for Tiger, but for everyone who looked up to him. He made fools of us all -- his wife, his family, his fans. Watching heroes fall is never easy, even after we've seen it happen time and time again, and Tiger's demise was particularly painful, because he always seemed like one of the good guys. Now he's a punch line.
What do guys think of Tiger? "That stupid sonofabitch!" is the phrase I hear most often. So, yes, we get it. All too well.
There's men that think that? Are they looking up to Jesse James, too? Because they're both pretty darn cool. And JJ wasn't even "one of the good guys", but I feel like if Sandy liked him then, darn it, he was alright. So I'm off topic. Good answer!
I hope it was worth it... a 15 second orgasm over wife and children....
People cheat, thats a given... Cheating stems from unhappiness, and personal insecurity . I, myself am a cheater.... But I was never married...and I don't think I could do it to someone I was married to(no it doesn't make me better...I just realize that I have had that in me...) ..but hey... He has to live with it
Very sad situation. As Mr. T would say, "I pity the fool." Tiger definitely is a fool for the choices he made. He basically threw away everything he had of value and gave no thought to the consequences of his actions, causing immense pain and heartbreak for his loved ones and great disappointment for his fans.
In the golf arena, sure Tiger Woods is the man. Outside of it, he's not worth much of anything anymore.
I do think that AT&T really dropped the ball by dropping him as one of their spokesmen. That unlimited texting plan sure worked for him.
I am a believer in that everything happens for a reason, there are no coincidences. I also don't really blame people for what the vast majority of society call "bad behavior".
What saddens me is that this is not who Tiger Woods is. He obviously is in a lot of pain. No one should be help up to a perfect image. That makes people nuts and do things they otherwise would not do.
I have nothing but compassion for him and his family. I hope he gets the help he needs and hopefully he can do that minus the whole world peering in at him. Which is part of what drove this behavior in the first place.
Also, the whole stigma about sex needs to end about right now. It's not about the sex, at all. It's about him seeking ways to alleviate his pain. Not having the courage to ask for help because of the stigma of the whole thing.
Do you know Tiger Woods personally? How do you know that's not who he is? I think a great way of knowing who someone is is by watching how they treat their closest loved ones and enemies. I dont know how the guy treats his enemies, but it sure can't be much worse than how he's treated his wife and children. He ruined thier family for cheap attention.
He is personally responsible for cheating, dont you dare say its the media's fault that he went and stuck it up a whole dozen slutty women. That makes no sense. If he didnt want extra media attention he wouldn'tgo do things to become the most infamous man for a couple of weeks on the news.
Finally, its not a sex stigma, its a cheating stigma, and its rightfully deserved. I'm glad the whole world looks at him with disgust, or at least all women and most men. People who cheat deserve to walk around with an unwritten scarlet letter associated with them.
You go Rach! The only reason he's in pain is becasue he was discovered. He brought it on himself; I have no sympathy for him. I do, however, have sympathy for his wife and fans though. They were the ones hardest hit. Before the cheating story hit, he was a famous golfer, but not that famous outside of the golf world. Now everyone knows who he is, and they're chasing him down. Again, he brought it on himself. (and the girls he cheated with are to blame too, its not like it was a secret he was married)
NOT the man.
Of course, I'm a little biased because I think golf is retarded, but if we ignore his "sport" of choice, he's still NOT the man. Cheaters are weak sauce.
They think he's the man because he was getting so many chicks at once. Jeez. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Actually he's NOT the man because his wife is super hot and has an accent and he ruined that. Although we should note that if those texts are any indication then he likes his sex a certain way and maybe she wasn't fulfilling for him in that manner. Ya never know...
This is all subjective. His wife was hot? Ok so what? Are you saying that now if they divorced Tiger could never get another hot wife?
The concept is stupid. If Tiger doesn't really care about losing his wife then it really doesn't matter. Ultimately the only people really affected are Tiger and his family. And since we are not them, we have no way of really knowing what they think.
So external judgments really don't matter. Is he the man? Depends - do I define "the man" as a player or a player who doesn't get caught?
You know what was really stupid?
Apparently in the beginning of him and his wife's relationship she had been aware that he was a bit of a ladies man and when their relationship was becoming serious, she called him out on it and asked him point blank if he was done with that life. He said yes.
Apparently he wasn't.
If you aren't ready to get married, DON'T GET MARRIED. Play the field, be a 50 year old Fonzi, but don't lie to yourself and others and create a clusterfuck of damage to innocent bystanders, aka your wife/husband and kids.
